Dear Colleagues, Old and New Friends,
It is a great pleasure to present the Proceedings of TIME 2012
(Technology and its Integration in Mathematics Education 2012) held
from July 10th to 14th in Tartu, Estonia.
The reference to Proceedings is:
Proceedings of TIME
2012. July 2012. Tartu (Estonia). ISBN: 978-9985-4-0737-0.
The conference has changed its name several times from
Spring School Krems 1992 to International DERIVE & TI-92 Conference,
from ACDCA Summer Academy and VISIT-ME 2002 to TIME
since Montréal 2004. We were proud to celebrate the 20th year of this
conference series in Tartu. The conference TIME 2012 combined 2 conferences:
No matter where it has been held, the conference has preserved
a special spirit and atmosphere. One of the most important guardians of the
conference series is Josef Böhm. He is also the editor of the 1st and many
other proceedings. 72 participants from 18 countries joined the
conference in Tartu. In addition, 17 accompanying persons have participated
in the program for them.
53 proposals were accepted after being peer-reviewed by program
committee members. These proposals can be classified into 5 Keynote Lectures,
3 Discussion Panels, 5 Workshops and 40 Lectures.
Selected papers from the conference will be published in
the special issues of the following journals:
Journal of Symbolic Computation (JSC),
International Journal of Mathematical
Education in Science and Technology (iJMEST),
The International Journal for Technology in
Mathematics Education (IJTME).
The special issues of the journals will appear during the year
2013 after an additional review process. The guest editors are José Luis
Galán García, Pedro Rodríguez Cielos and Gabriel Aguilera Venegas.
Each contribution in the Proceedings can be found by its title
(Index – Title) or by its authors (Index – Authors) and contains the
abstract in pdf format, the presentation (or the full paper if the authors
sent it for the Proceedings) in pdf or ppt/pptx format (in the same format
as the authors sent it) and extra files (if any) usually in a zip file.
There are many people who have helped to organize this
conference: chairs and members of the program committees, keynote speakers,
presenters of lectures and workshops, members of the local organizing
committee, etc. Many thanks to all of them!
We are also very grateful to our sponsors: Estonian Ministry of
Education and Research, Texas Instruments, Tiger Leap Foundation and Faculty
of Mathematics and Computer Science.
Have a good and interesting use of TIME 2012 Proceedings!
